The second part of our Tour Film from the Cookie Jar comes from the Scottish Highlands. This one is a cracker! It’s longer than a typical English soap-opera, and twice the entertainment!

In this episode, we head down to East Lothian for the second leg of our trip, playing at the Renaissance Club, Gullane No.1, Muirfield (The Honorable Co. Edinburgh Golfers), Kilspindie and Musselburgh Old Links. All of this in 3 days, with a late night barstool putting tournament at the epic Duck’s Inn, Aberlady with our host Malcolm Duck (aka The Duck)!

We have a cameo appearance from Steve Elkington talking about his win at Wentworth over Monty, swimming pools in locker rooms, broken golf courses, broken clubs, and even a car that gets broken into! We’ve got a ‘what’s in the bag’ with a twist, courtesy of friend of the pod – Sam Cooper (aka @links_from_the_road), some secret and not-so-secret matches and a whole lot of fun!

‘Sandy & Acidic diaries’ is about more than soil composition to us… the firm and fast, loamy turf on the British Isles represents the very best of the game – with all year round playability, it’s the purest form of the game where putting from 60 yards is sometimes a better play than getting the wedge out. Variable conditions and stunning vistas, this really is the best of golf! Despite everything we were told about the famous East Lothian mircro-climate, we knew we were going to get soaked eventually, and the weather finally turned at Kilspindie for a few holes! Appart from that you can enjoy stunning sunset, beautiful bays, and some distinctly average golf!

Don’t forget for a more in depth insight to some of the clubs featured, our Story of a Golf Club series provides exactly that! We’ll be releasing our Story of a Golf Club films for each course (with the exception of Muirfield) every Monday from the 11 JAN!

A big thank you to our hosts and organisers for the Tour! As well as the clubs and the courses, specific thanks go to Jamie Darling and Allan Minto at Scotland, Where Golf Began, Malcolm Duck, Sam Cooper, James Woods, and how can we forget Stephane Barras!

We hope you enjoy the film!
