The first ever Tour Film from the Cookie Jar comes from the Scottish Highlands. This is a new style of film, and we hope
you love it! In Part I from our tour, we make the stupidly long, nine hour drive north en-route to Boat of Garten, only to
find out that the course was fully shut due to inclement weather in recent weeks.
Luckily, things worked out ok in the end as you can probably tell! We’ve got footage in here from Castle Stuart, Royal
Dornoch, and Brora! After all that, it’s down to East Lothian for another onslaught of great links golf!
Club-twirls, hozzle-rockets, plenty of birdies, even more bogeys and a lot of great fun around some of the very best links
golf you can find in the world! We joust on the links of Brora with club professional Malcolm, Mills stays awake all night in
Tain listening to a car alarm, and Bruce replicates Tiger’s infamous Presidents cup march, striding after an approach into
the 18 th at Castle Stuart!
‘Sandy & Acidic’ is about more than soil composition to us… the firm and fast, loamy turf on the British Isles represents
the very best of the game – with all year round playability, it’s the purest form of the game where putting from 60 yards is
sometimes a better play than getting the wedge out. Variable conditions and stunning vistas, this really is the best of golf!
Don’t forget for a more in depth insight to some of the clubs featured, our Story of a Golf Club series provides exactly
that! This is about our take on the clubs, and the courses, the tales from the tour.
A big thank you to our hosts and organisers for the Tour! As well as the clubs and the courses, specific thanks go to
Jamie Darling and Allan Minto at Scotland, Where Golf Began, Stuart McColm, Neil Hampton, Malcolm Murray, Andy
Stewart and Oli Baker, and Matthew Harris!
We hope you enjoy the film!
