We’re kick starting our 2025 event campaign, with a Retro Day at Prince’s, host of the 1932 Open Championship where Gene Sarazen lifted the Claret Jug with his new fangled iron with a beefed up sole, what would become known as ’the sand wedge’. Sarazen’s win at prince’s in ’32 was a watershed moment in the history of Prince’s as well as in the evolution of golf club design.
As a reminder, our retro events require you play (wherever possible) with pre-1997 clubs, and bonus points are up for grabs for any retro clothing you are wearing. We’ll be playing the Himalayas and Shore nines, kicking off with breakfast, 18 holes and a late lunch. All for £80 per person, and lodging can be laid on for a small extra cost if you notify us in advance. We might even try and organise a splinter group to take on the North Foreland par 3 course while we’re down there!
For a taste of our previous retro events, check out our day at West Byfleet in 2023 here.
Cost: £80
